TXN: lab accident

Tails ran to the new lab in knothole. He had helped Nicole become real in the lab the day before. He honestly liked her in a way. It was a rainy night and he was checking to make sure nothing was going to explode. Nicole now owned tails' guest bedroom in his house. Considering he never really had any guests over it was a good thing. She was worried about him it had been an hour since he left to check on the lab and she decided to go and check on him. She walked outside and was blown by the torrent of rain. She worked her way to the lab. Lightning struck every once in a while. She got a bad feeling. Based on her time as a computer, she had a lot of knowledge on pretty much anything. Lightning struck the lab and it caught on fire. She was about to go inside to get tails out when it exploded. She was thrown back. She struck a wall of a building. She stumbled to get up. All she could think of was tails and if he was alive. The explosion shook knothole and soon everyone was coming outside to see what it was. Nicole hurt too much to get up. Tears started to form in her eyes. "Tails, no…" sally ran over to Nicole. "Nicole? Are you okay?" she didn't listen. "Tails…" sally realized what she meant and looked in horror at the torrent of flames. It was raining ash and water. Nicole watched as everyone worked on getting the fire out. Soon it was out and sally saw a trail of blood leading into the woods. "No…" she ran down the path and sonic ran off after her.  The trail led into a cave. They found tails passed out with bad wounds covering his body. Sally kneeled and checked his pulse and heart rate. "Good, he's alive." Sonic carries tails to the hospital to get his wounds checked and sally helped Nicole up. Nicole's side was bleeding from the hit she took and she was weak. Sally helped her to the hospital as well. Nicole was fine, she got a few cuts and her side was split open. She was stitched up easily. Tails' was in a very bad condition. His wounds were slowly healing and he was out cold for a month. Sonic and sally were worried the wounds might have been too bad. Nicole denied this in any way she could. "NO! He'll be fine…" she had trouble believing her own words right now. She knew his wounds were healed but he still wouldn't wake up. She walked in and squeezed his hand. She noticed his hand flexed slightly. She owed so much to him. She never would be here if he never had made that device. All of their friends had gone home and the room was quiet. She had an idea to wake him up but she was way too nervous. She layed her head on the bed and tried to think of another way. Her side hurt like crazy from the explosion and she felt like crying. A single tear fell from her face and onto tails' ungloved hand. He stirred and blinked, he couldn't get up because of the pain. He moved his head to see Nicole holding his hand. Her head was still down so she didn't notice he woke yet. "N-Nicole?" she sat up, tears still in her eyes. "Tails… " He smiled. "Why are you crying?" "I… I was worried about you!" she hugged him; getting his fur wet with her hot tears. He put a hand to her face and wiped her tears away. Soon her crying was reduced to sniffles. Soon a smile was on her face, despite her sad face. "See? Isn't that better?" she neared him. "Tails…" he noticed her face and could guess her future actions he didn't stop her. She closed her eyes and kissed him on the lips. He expected a kiss but had no idea she was dead serious about. She didn't let go for a good five minutes. She separated and smiled; her face now turned bright red. "Sorry… I couldn't help myself…" he nods. "It's okay! It helped me get back to reality." She happily nods. "Nicole, I knew we would eventually do that, I love you" he kissed her and she embraced him while kissing back. They smile at each other. "Tails… never scare me like you did last month" "Wait… month??? I was out a month?" she nods. "Yes, you were! You're fine now!" he nods. "Better than that… I now have you!" she hugs him. "I like that to…"
